This weekend on Saturday Night Live, it was an evening filled with star power as Paul Rudd, Emma Stone, Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, and other frequent hosts welcomed the latest addition to the "five-timers club," Martin Short.
Tom Hanks kicked off the celebration, while Alec Baldwin, Scarlett Johansson, Tina Fey, and John Mulaney joined in to congratulate Short and share the secrets of club membership.
"In this club, you can be completely honest," Wiig exclaimed.
Their hilarious faux confessions included Rudd claiming, “Ant-Man’s powers aren’t good,” while Fey quipped, “It’s me that’s flying those drones, all of them.” Hanks humorously declared, “I never had COVID,” to which Johansson replied, “I have COVID right now!”
In the background, Baldwin was seen smoking a cigarette and confessed, “I had way too many children.”
Jimmy Fallon made a surprise appearance toward the end of the skit to present Short with his official five-timers club jacket. The “Only Murders in the Building” star comically struggled to put it on before joining the group in the ceremonial announcement, “Live from New York, it’s Saturday night!”
Short was a cast member on SNL in 1984 and 1985, first hosting the show in December 1986 alongside Steve Martin and Chevy Chase. He last hosted two years ago with Martin, his co-star from Only Murders in the Building.
Hozier served as the musical guest for this week’s holiday episode of Saturday Night Live, marking the final show of 2024 and part of the 50th season of the iconic sketch comedy series.
