Trump Selects Karoline Leavitt as White House Press Secretary

President-elect Donald Trump has announced that Karoline Leavitt, his campaign spokesperson, will serve as press secretary for his incoming administration.

"Karoline Leavitt did an outstanding job as National Press Secretary for my historic campaign, and I am excited to announce she will take on the role of White House Press Secretary," Trump said in a statement Friday evening.

"Karoline is smart, tough, and an exceptionally effective communicator. I have full confidence she will excel at the podium and help convey our message to the American people as we continue to Make America Great Again."

At 27, Leavitt will become the youngest press secretary in U.S. history, surpassing Ron Ziegler, who was 29 when he held the position during the Nixon administration from 1969 to 1974.
