**Elizabeth Warren Criticizes Trump’s DOGE Leadership Picks: ‘Yeah, This Seems REALLY Efficient’**
After President-elect Donald Trump announced that Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy would lead the new Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) aimed at eliminating wasteful government spending, Senator Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., took aim at the decision with sharp sarcasm.
"The Office of Government Efficiency is off to a great start with split leadership: two people to do the work of one," Warren quipped in a post on X (formerly Twitter), adding, "Yeah, this seems REALLY efficient."
Trump praised Musk and Ramaswamy, saying they would "pave the way for my Administration to dismantle government bureaucracy, slash excess regulations, cut wasteful expenditures, and restructure federal agencies." The new department, Trump said, would collaborate with the White House and the Office of Management & Budget to drive structural reforms and adopt an entrepreneurial approach to government.
Musk, in a statement, emphasized the department's commitment to transparency, announcing that all actions taken by DOGE would be posted online for public scrutiny. He also promised a "leaderboard" for the most egregious examples of government waste, inviting citizens to submit their opinions on what should or shouldn't be cut. "This will be both extremely tragic and extremely entertaining," Musk tweeted.
Ramaswamy, who dropped out of the GOP presidential race earlier this year to endorse Trump, also expressed enthusiasm for the initiative, noting that DOGE would "crowdsource examples of government waste, fraud, and abuse." He added, "Americans voted for drastic government reform & they deserve to be part of fixing it."
Warren didn’t stop there. She also criticized Trump’s pick for Defense Secretary, Pete Hegseth, calling him "not qualified" for the role. "A Fox & Friends weekend co-host is not qualified to be the Secretary of Defense," she wrote on X. "I lead the Senate military personnel panel. All three of my brothers served in uniform. I respect every one of our servicemembers. Donald Trump’s pick will make us less safe and must be rejected."
Hegseth, an Army veteran with two Bronze Stars and a Combat Infantryman’s Badge, was a co-host on Fox News and has been a vocal critic of the military’s focus on diversity and inclusivity. Trump has called Hegseth "a courageous and patriotic champion of our 'Peace through Strength' policy."
Warren's criticisms come as Trump’s transition plans continue to face scrutiny from political opponents, especially regarding the qualifications and backgrounds of some of his key nominees.
