FDNY Responds to Brush Fire in Brooklyn's Prospect Park 

A brush fire broke out in Prospect Park Friday evening, exacerbated by the ongoing drought conditions across the city.

The fire, fueled by strong winds, escalated to a two-alarm response as it spread across two acres of wooded land in the Nethermead area, near the heart of the park, around 6:40 p.m.

Over 100 firefighters, including specialized brush fire units, battled the blaze for nearly three hours. Meanwhile, FDNY drone operators surveyed the area from above to identify and target hot spots.
