The Texas A&M Aggies may be without two of their starters for Friday night's Las Vegas Bowl.
The Texas A&M Aggies will be shorthanded for the Las Vegas Bowl against the USC Trojans.
In addition to being without their top three defensive linemen, the Aggies will also be missing two key starters. Starting cornerback Will Lee III and starting running back Amari Daniels are both expected to miss the game due to injury.
Daniels will miss the game, while Lee’s status remains a game-time decision.
Daniels, who became the starter for Le'Veon Moss late in the season, sustained an injury toward the end of the regular season and will be unavailable for Friday’s game.
EJ Smith has been taking first-team reps during warmups in place of Daniels, with sophomore Reuben Owens also expected to play a significant role.
Daniels recorded 139 carries for 661 yards and eight touchdowns this season, averaging 4.8 yards per carry. He was the team’s second-leading rusher behind Le'Veon Moss.
In the secondary, Lee was injured during bowl practices and is testing his pain tolerance during warmups. He is the Aggies' top cornerback.
Additionally, the Aggies will be without Lee’s backup, Jayvon Thomas, as well as linebacker Scooby Williams and offensive lineman Armaj Reed-Adams.
Lee has recorded 39 solo tackles, one forced fumble, two interceptions, and 10 pass deflections this season.
This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
