(FOX40.COM) — Sacramento County deputies arrested 28-year-old Andrey Demskiy on Friday morning in connection with the death of his 1-year-old son. He is accused of beheading the child.
The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies responded to a domestic disturbance call at a home in the Antelope community around 4:15 a.m.
Upon arrival, deputies spoke with a woman outside the residence who claimed that her husband had assaulted her and her mother. The mother was subsequently taken to a hospital, though her injuries were not life-threatening.
As deputies attempted to communicate with Demskiy, he refused to exit the home. The woman informed them that her 1-year-old son was still inside and might be injured after being thrown by his father.
When deputies entered the residence, they detained Demskiy and discovered the boy’s severed head in the bedroom where he was found. The sheriff’s office indicated that Demskiy allegedly had a dispute with his wife and mother-in-law, and during their exit from the home, he used a knife to behead his son.
Demskiy was taken to the Sacramento County Main Jail, where he is currently ineligible for bail, according to the sheriff’s office.
