"WWE Reveals Main Event for Raw's Netflix Debut"

With just a few weeks left before WWE Raw makes its Netflix debut, the promotion is pulling out all the stops to make the event feel like a WrestleMania-level spectacle. On Wednesday, they took another step in that direction by announcing what is set to be one of the biggest main events in the 30+ year history of Raw.

During the Raw on Netflix Kickoff Special on YouTube Wednesday, WWE announcer Michael Cole revealed that CM Punk vs. Seth Rollins will headline Raw’s debut on Netflix. While the match was one of the two previously confirmed bouts for the show—along with Roman Reigns vs. Solo Sikoa—it had remained unclear which of the two would close out the event.

The highly anticipated Punk vs. Rollins match has been years in the making. It was first teased during Punk’s brief stint on the WWE Backstage program in 2019. After Punk’s return to WWE at Survivor Series last year, there were plans for him to face Rollins for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania. However, those plans were derailed when Punk suffered a torn biceps. Following his recovery, Punk shifted his focus to a feud with Drew McIntyre, culminating in a Hell in a Cell match to settle their rivalry in 2024.

After taking a month off, Punk turned his attention back to Rollins, who had been caught up in a feud with Bronson Reed until Reed’s injury at Survivor Series: WarGames. In recent weeks, Punk and Rollins have had multiple confrontations on Raw, culminating in a heated pull-apart brawl this past Monday night.
