The wait for the first Superman trailer is nearly over.
James Gunn’s Superman, starring David Corenswet as the new Man of Steel, will drop its trailer on Thursday at 6 a.m. PT, Warner Bros. announced on Monday. To build excitement, fans got a fresh look at the superhero with a motion poster that nods to Christopher Reeve’s iconic portrayal of Superman.
If you listen carefully, you’ll hear a slowed-down version of John Williams’ legendary Superman theme from the 1978 film. Known for its bold horns and triumphant tone, Gunn’s film reimagines the music with a softer, more reflective twist. The brass is replaced by strings, and a woman’s voice softly hums the familiar melody.
The poster showcases Corenswet’s Superman soaring upward, his costume’s reds, blues, and yellows blending into the background. This motion effect creates a dynamic, high-speed look as if Corenswet is rapidly flying into the sky. The tagline reads, “Look up.”
In addition, Warner Bros. released a brief teaser featuring the Superman logo, confirming the trailer’s release time. The teaser repeats the “Look up” phrase as the iconic “S” logo shifts from upside down to right-side up.
Gunn’s Superman, previously titled Superman: Legacy, is set to hit theaters on July 11. It marks the first film from the newly formed DC Studios, led by Gunn and Peter Safran. Corenswet stars alongside Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner (Green Lantern), Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, and more.
