Evacuation Orders Issued for Areas of Santa Cruz County Amid High Surf Conditions



 


SANTA CRUZ, Calif.
Multiple roads, beaches, and areas in Santa Cruz County are closed due to flooding and flood warnings caused by high surf. A high surf warning remains in effect until noon on Tuesday.

The Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office has issued evacuation orders for Rio Del Mar, Beach Drive, and Los Olas, urging residents to evacuate immediately.

Evacuation orders have also been extended to Capitola Village, and the Capitola Wharf is currently closed.

Residents of the Venetians are asked to evacuate water-facing units without delay. Those living near 100 Esplanade and Monterey are advised to shelter in place or voluntarily leave the area.
